Studies

So, I am sitting here at work at four in the morning feeling like I want to write. I am feeling very grateful right now. I know that when people go on a little spiritual run of words it can feel somewhat fake or monotonous. But, I really feel very grateful in many ways.

I very much love to think about things. There are so many things to study and contemplate that I feel very lucky and grateful to be able to look and search and learn about anything. And, thanks to Wikipedia, it can easily be a hobby for anyone. Maybe we should call it wikipedianology. Or just the study of everything basically. There isn't really a correct English word for it. So, for now, it's just going to be called Wikipedianology.

But, to continue on this post, I am very grateful for the abilities that I have to study, experience and learn whatever I would like to. The hard part is... actually doing it. This morning, as was the same as the past few mornings, I haven't woken up until about 10AM. I have been rather lazy this last week and it seems like I haven't really successfully lived up to my learning abilities. I think its because we find a routine in our lives that we like and we stick with that. Anything that seems to deviate from our comfort zone or routine in our every day lives just doesn't stick for very long. The only things that tend to stick are the routines or things that are easy to stick with or extremely rewarding. I think that that is why it's something to be noticed when someone does something really difficult and out of the ordinary that doesn't seem all that rewarding to anyone else. Its the grad student that finished grad school for the 3rd time because she/ he just wanted to learn and it's also the stay and home Mom that decided to have a Mexican Fiesta night with all the Mexican decorations and garb involved. It's people that really try to live life instead of just get through it that amaze me the most (I got that from a quote on the wall of the gym I go to).

So, I resolve to sincerely try to be someone who lives life and truly studies it's complex ways and styles. It is a blessing to be able to have the ability to do so.

Sincerely,
Samantha

P.S. Sorry if this post doesn't really make sense, it is 4AM after all.

Family Ties

So, I'm writing another blog now, it's been a while. I last wrote in March and now it's June. Not a lot has happened really. Justin and I really enjoy our apartment and it has been fun to live in it. I found out a few weeks ago that we have fresh seedless grapes that are being grown right outside our house that we are allowed to pick and enjoy! :P So, along with the pecan trees we also have some seedless grapes when they ripen and are ready to harvest. Justin and I really enjoy grapes, so that's fun.

Lately, I have been a little under the weather, emotional wise. It has been hard to deal with all of these changes. First, jobs, than moving out of town; I have never done that before; than not having my dog inside the house with me as well as moving away from my family and not being able to see them very often. It has all been rather difficult. I do kind of blame it as well on a birth control shot I got about a month ago that has really kind of messed up my normal system of thinking and dealing with things. But, I think it's starting to smooth out. If not, Justin still is always there for me, rain or shine and he doesn't ever give up on me.

Just yesterday, Justin and I decided to drive to Mesquite (about 35 min. away from us) and go out to eat at the Virgin River. The Virgin River has really cheap entrees that are sooo good and there is always so much food. Justin and I usually split the ham steak dinner and we can't even hardly finish that. :P So, we really enjoyed that last night. Also, on the way there we talked a lot about our future together and that is always bright and fun.

Justin is going to go to school in August, where hopefully I will be pregnant by then. I am pretty excited to get pregnant. It will be hard though considering Justin will be going to school full time and I will probably have to work a little bit. But, the very exciting part is that Justin and I are completely ready to have kids and we're excited to have them. I guess I shouldn't go as far as to say we're Completely ready but we are ready and wanting to move on to this next stage of our life together. It is fun to talk about what kind of traditions we should have as a family and than what we enjoyed as kids that our parents did for us and that we'd like to pass onto our kids.

Mostly, thinking about having kids makes you realize how grateful you are for your parents. Justin and I both had great parents that loved us and did everything they could to make us happy. Its hard to raise kids and to keep everything else in the balance. I guess it's just faith that you have to have when you start a family because you just don't know how life is going to happen. Even though it seems threateningly difficult to have a family it is ultimately rewarding and life changing or so I have heard. And, I think that if Justin and I have been able to make it up till now, we definitely will be able to make it through having our family together.

I am happy though, and Justin is happy as well. We look forward every day to being able to share the next day with each other. We have been spoiled these last three years (almost 4) and it will be a pretty huge adjustment when we do start to have our little kiddies. But, I think if anyone can do it, we can.

I hope everyone in our families are doing well! We love you all very much! We have family living in a lot of different places right now and we really miss all of you! We had so much fun with Justins family this last Monday, Memorial Day, going to Zions National Park and hiking Angels Landing. It was fun to hang out with all of them after as well at a bbq. Also, my family, some of them anyway, are coming this next week and we're VERY excited to see them as well.

Have a great day guys, or night if you all are reading this later in the day! Love you all!

Love,
Justin and Sammie

Our Meanderings..

So, it seems like its my turn to write a blog now eh' Jess? So, here I go..

Justin and I have some exciting things coming up and things that have already happened. I now work at BeeHive Homes and PetCo and Justin has a job that starts next weekend. Justin got a job working for the city of Saint George doing sound for their events (which they have events every weekend).

Also, we got an apartment in downtown St. George and its really a great apartment. It has a 6 month lease, $650 a month that includes utilities and its right across the street from the city center and library as well as a block away from the St. George Rec. Center. So its in a really prime location from Justin's job and because we'd like to go to the rec. center every day. The rec. center is free for Justin and its half off for me because I'm his wifey.

Also, some other interesting news; Justin is getting a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. It is supposed to get awesome gas mileage and is cheaper to insure as well as cheaper to buy than a vehicle. So, he's really excited to go shopping for one now that he has been to the motorcycle training and only needs to now get his license to drive one at the DMV. He also is really excited to shop for motorcycle clothing that screams leather daddy; haha, I'm just kidding he is very adamant about getting clothing that DOESN'T scream leather daddy.

So, we're going to be moving again soon the beginning of April. And, we're both really excited to be on our own again. We have really been grateful that Justin's Dad was so nice to let us stay at his house and because of that it has saved us TONS of time and money. Also, this last week I have been working about 70 hours at the BeeHive Homes and Bob, Justin's uncle who lives in St. George, was also really nice to let us stay at his house for the better part of the week last week so I wouldn't have to drive back and forth from Cedar to St. George after working a 14 hour night shift, :P. We are lucky to have such loving families and we're very grateful to all of them, :).

Everything is now seeming to pull together for us. We are very excited. Also, I recently discovered the wonders of Reddit.com. Very fun and awesome site if you like to read, research, and/or just watch funny, interesting or informative videos. Anything entertainment wise is pretty much on there. And, you can make it your own thing by selecting your own topics that you want to look at, watch or read about. Some of my favorites are "AWWW", "Funny" and of course "Dog Training".

Well, I think that's about it for us right now. We are happy and still very much in love with each other. I love all of you and hope you all are enjoying what is supposed to be the beginning of Spring!! (It's snowed here :P)

Love,
Justin and Sammie

Goings Ons...

Hey everyone!

So, my sister in law has updated her blog, and we made a deal where I would post one once she had posted one. So here goes...

Life here in Cedar is going great. I love the warm weather... pbbbth (rasberry) to all you northerners down there.. It is really nice weather being January. Saint George, where I work, is actually starting to feel like the end of spring it is getting so warm. The people I work with that have lived in St. George for a while state that it is actually cold, but they don't know what cold really is I don't think, :P. So, yeah, I am enjoying the weather.

Other than the weather being nice, my job is getting better. I have a lot more hours now and I found out that I get to care for the animal habitats on a regular basis as well as the regular store responsibilities; like cashiering and facing and such; it has been really fun to take care of the little critters in the store. I love ferrets now, and I would really like to have a couple when we get a house.

Anyways, so, Justin is doing okay as well. He will most likely be attending SUU in August to get a degree in Communication Studies. This will allow him to have a Masters and than a lot more job opportunities will open up. He is looking to maybe becoming a professor at a college and having a on the spot recording studio as well. If he gets his masters at SUU, which will take him about a year, he will be able to get a job as a professor pretty easily.

We are looking to move out pretty soon from my father-in-law's house. Not only because my work is about 50 miles away from Cedar, but, well, I guess thats the only reason really, and we like St. George better because of its nice weather. So, we're trying to find a place closer to St. George. I was hoping Toquerville would be an option, but we haven't quite looked there yet. It's about halfway between St. George and Cedar. So, while Justin is going to school I can also get to work a lot easier than I am now getting there.

Well, I think that's it for now, but until next time, I hope everyone is doing well. Also, most importantly, my Mom's birthday is this Saturday, and I wanted to wish her a very, very happy birthday. She is the most wonderful mother in the world, and I miss her very much!

Love you all!
-Sammie
